Well, not exactly. There’s a difference between regular yogurt and frozen yogurt.

Frozen yogurt, what you typically get from your favorite Fro Yo shop, usually comes fully loaded with sugar and often devoid of nutrients. That’s why making some high-protein frozen yogurt at home is ideal because you get to control what ingredients go into it!

That’s why we have decided to share our two favorite healthy protein frozen yogurt recipes! Each high-protein frozen yogurt recipe contains natural fruit, our LadyBoss LEAN protein powder, Greek yogurt, and other beneficial ingredients.

Now, we imagine that you might be wondering about how hard it is to make yogurt at home. Well, maybe if you were trying to make actual yogurt, it would be difficult. But you aren’t going to be turning cultured milk into yogurt with these recipes.

Instead, when it comes to knowing how to make protein frozen yogurt at home, you just need to know how to find your local grocery store and run a food processor. Both of these protein frozen yogurt recipes are about as easy as it comes!

Plus, if you have kids, they will love these frozen yogurt recipes, and you can rest easy knowing you aren’t giving them a bunch of sugar!

So, is frozen yogurt high in protein, vitamins, and all-around good for you? Well, we can’t speak about the frozen yogurt you get down at the Fro Yo shop. But when you make it for yourself at home, then you know for sure that it is!

Rich Vanilla Frozen Yogurt

While part-skim or fat-free yogurt can be substituted, to get the real flavor and richness of this frozen yogurt, it is best to use the whole-milk variety.


2 tablespoons light corn syrup

vanilla bean, split seeds scraped and set aside

4 cups whole milk, plain Greek yogurt

1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Put the corn syrup, honey, water and scraped vanilla pod (not the seeds they will be used in the next step) into a medium saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil and then simmer until reduced by half (but be sure that it has not picked up too much color) cool and reserve.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt, reserved honey-vanilla reduction, vanilla seeds and vanilla extract, sugar and salt together. Whisk until the sugar has dissolved. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours, preferably overnight.

Assemble the paddle holder of the Cuisinart ® Fruit Scoop&trade Frozen Dessert Maker with the ice cream attachment. Place in freezer bowl and turn the unit on. While the unit is running, pour the mixture into the frozen freezer bowl. Allow to churn until thickened, about 20 minutes. The frozen yogurt will have a soft, creamy texture. If a firmer consistency is desired, transfer the frozen yogurt to an airtight container and place in freezer for about 2 hours. Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before serving.


  • 1 cup Greek-style yoghurt
  • 4 cups sliced and frozen bananas
  • 6 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cup Oreo cookies, crushed
  • Blend yoghurt, bananas, honey and vanilla essence all together in a food processor or blender.
  • Pulse until the mixture becomes thick and creamy.
  • Transfer mixture to a standard-size pan, preferably ceramic.
  • Then, crush the Oreo cookies using your hand into small chunks.
  • Sprinkle the crushed cookies over the blended mixture.
  • Cover and chill in the freezer for 2 hours until frozen, but still soft enough to scoop.
  • Voila, it’s ready!

Strawberry Cheesecake Frozen Yogurt

Cook time: 3 hours 0 minutes

  • 1 cup Greek-style yoghurt
  • 3/4 cup cream cheese
  • 4 cups frozen strawberries
  • 6 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 whole graham crackers, crushed
  • Blend yoghurt, cream cheese, strawberries, honey and vanilla essence, till it’s a smooth mixture.
  • Pulse until crumbly, then continue to blend until the mixture becomes thick and creamy.
  • Transfer mixture to a standard-size pan, preferably ceramic.
  • Crush the graham crackers in a bag, not too fine or chunky.
  • Fold in the graham crackers into the mixture slowly.
  • Cover and chill in the freezer for 2 hours until frozen, but still soft enough to scoop.
  • Voila. it’s ready!

Frozen Yogurt Recipes for Ice Cream Maker

Chill it or refrigerate it until the yogurt registers for at least 45 degree F on the instant-read thermometer. After that, you can now churn the yogurt in the ice cream maker.

  • 3 cups fresh or frozen and partially thawed blackberries, or raspberries or a mixture of blackberries, raspberries and blueberries (see Tip)
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¾ cup low-fat plain yogurt

Combine berries, sugar and lemon juice in a food processor process until smooth. Add yogurt and pulse until mixed in. If using fresh berries, transfer the mixture to a medium bowl, cover and refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour.

Transfer the berry mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's directions. (Alternatively, freeze the mixture in a shallow metal pan until solid, about 6 hours. Break into chunks and process in a food processor until smooth and creamy.) Serve immediately or transfer to a storage container and let harden in the freezer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Serve in chilled dishes.

Make Ahead Tip: Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week. Let soften in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour before serving.

Equipment: Ice cream maker or food processor

Tip: To freeze fresh berries: Wash berries and pat dry. Spread in a single layer on a tray, cover with plastic wrap and freeze until solid. Pack frozen fruit into ziplock bags, taking care to remove air from the bags. Freeze for up to 1 year.
